The Constitution of Secular Republic of Iran قانون اساسی جمهوری ايران

Background:

In November of 2008 I wrote a series of articles titled “Solutions for Iran” proposing unity of Iranians based on the common principals of:

Territorial integrity, Independence, Separation of Religion and State, Freedom of Expression, Gender Equality , and Human Rights

The article included a roadmap towards organization of peaceful weekly national strike days in Iran until the collapse of the Islamic Republic. (http://iranian.com/main/blog/david-et/solutions-iran-road-map-unity-days). At the time many were skeptical of these possibilities anytime soon, but only 7 months later such visions were proven to be closer to reality.

The defining moment to define green!

December 15th, 2009 | Politics | No Comments »

It has been a while since I have written anything, not that I didn’t have anything to say but that I doubted if stating what was in my mind would have made any difference until some of the emotions subside and until the right time comes.

In fact if emotions are still controlling your thoughts or actions (or lack of) about the post-election events in Iran, take this as your chance to stop reading the rest and move on with what you usually do or have been doing because reading on would require some serious “thinking”!

And if are still reading on, I must ask you to “pause” and:

Define Green! Where did it come from? Why green? Is there a document that defines its nature and its goals? What did it mean before the elections? and what does it mean now? What is its intent and most importantly: where do you think it is going?

Now! Do you think your answers are (or need to be) somewhat the same as others who are standing under its banner or leading it or wearing it, promoting it or following it?

Most people have been avoiding the questions, let alone answering them. Many have been delaying or justifying the lack of clarity and some have even said: This not the time to ask (or answer)! Well if it’s not, then this is your second chance to stop reading and move on!

But if are still with me!! I am going to ask you to read the questions again, think about them and answer them for yourself or for the rest of us! Until then I will only leave you with this thought:

I don’t know who burned Khomeini’s poster. I don’t care if it was pre-staged by the regime or it was done by The People. I don’t care if the regime is trying to take advantage of it … But I am glad it happened and it was about time.

This is the defining moment that I was anticipating before breaking my silence.

In Afghanistan we are technically fighting Taliban/AlQaeda who have political ties to Pakistan, that we support with millions of dollars every year. So we are basically fighting ourselves! This war is a another sad mistake.

One sentence?

Well deserved. I am glad she wore a green band but I am also very disappointed: She should have said at least one sentence in front of millions of viewers about Iranian struggle for democracy. One sentence.

Why The Bailout Money Should Have Gone To People, Not Banks

September 21st, 2009 | Uncategorized | No Comments »

Although I had campaigned for Obama’s presidency but immidiately after he took over presidency I opposed in many article his stimulus tricklenomy plan and stated that the giving the money to banks and wall Street will not end up in the hands of the people.

Many Obamaites hot off the campaign attacked me for not giving him enough time and I stressed that what is wrong is wrong, day one or after 4 years and better address the problem before instead of after the taxpayer money is wasted again.

Well! more and more signs are coming out that the money is not going to to people. Read more at:

MADRID — Leonard Cohen (75) is recovering after collapsing onstage while on tour in eastern Spain, his music company said Saturday.
The veteran poet and performer has been released from hospital after suffering from a stomach complaint, Doctor Music Concerts said in a statement.
Cohen was part-way through his song “Bird on the Wire” in Valencia when he fainted, causing the band to stop playing to rush to his aid as concertgoers watched. The concert was stopped.

We had your crap for 8 years, now its time that you back off! Obama is not perfect but is many times better than the bozo we had for two terms.

Don’t be such sore losers, your lost. Respect the majority, as others did when you were in charge.

It’s time that US join the rest of the civilized world and provide a public health option. I personally am for vouchers but that is not on the table and anything is better than what we have now, which is : Nothing.

Things can be revised if needed in future.  This debate has been going on for way too many years. There is no perfect solution but we should start somewhere .

Yes we canned
